This comes as no surprise seeing how considerably fast the platform has grown. College graduates throughout the world have the ability to explore possible jobs, making the potential for the site endless. With 30 million companies currently listed on LinkedIn, and 20 million open job listings, there is no doubt that LinkedIn has become one of the most transformational networks for the job market. With more than 95% of recruiters using LinkedIn regularly, it is easy to say the impact of LinkedIn on the job market has been immensely useful for employers and job seekers throughout the world.

Aside from LinkedIn, Twitter, a social network that was launched a little over 14 years ago, is currently the second most commonly used network for B2B marketers. Twitter is a great way to share business or community events, which is why 93% of Twitter community members are open to brands getting involved.

A great advancement social media has brought to consumer’s lives is the ability to work remotely. This is ideal for people aiming to create a better work/life balance, or simply require that they do their work from home. Because of the impact of social media, it has made working remotely possible. It has also made it more likely for marketing companies to grow, considering they can use their networking, and digitally connect with clients across the world. A study showed that 99% of participants said they would like to work remotely at some point in their career, and 95% said that they encourage others to work remotely. When it came down to what the biggest benefit they felt working remotely was, 40% said because of the flexible schedule, 30% said the ability to work from any location, 14% said to spend time with family, and 13% said because of the ability to work from home. As with everything, working remotely does have its benefits, but it also has downsides. When asked what the biggest struggle was, over half of their participants’ answers had something to do with loneliness, the struggle of unplugging after work, and the inability to have direct collaboration and communication. With this said, almost everyone said they want to work remotely at some point in their career, which has been much more achievable with the use of social media.

As the world around us changes, it is important to stay intact with what we are trying to achieve. Social media has been such a dramatic transformation for the job market.
