The app is used worldwide, with a total of 500 million daily active users. However, the highest concentration of users is in the United States. Which currently has 116 million users. The next is India at 73 million users, and Brazil at 72 million users. Although people of all ages use Instagram, the two largest age groups are in the 18- 24 age group, accounting for 30% of all users, and the 25-34 age group, accounting for 35% of all users. The user gender is just about equal, currently standing at 51% female, and 49% male.

There are approximately 25 million + businesses on Instagram, which is an estimated 75.3% of all U.S. businesses. This is why it is not surprising to know that the majority of shopping enthusiast discover new products on Instagram. Previously mentioned, Instagram has become an influencer-based marketing site. There are 500,000 active influencers on the site, which is why about 65% of marketers say that they plan to spend their influencer budget on Instagram.
